AdPix Newspapers
On April 4, 2002, a new weekly newspaper hit the mailboxes
in Northwest Illinois.
Village Voices was the first publication of AdPix Inc. - a small company
founded by a select group of newspaper, sales and graphic design
professionals who believed there was a better way to deliver community news.
Since that early beginning, AdPix has grown by leaps and bounds as a
second newspaper, the Freeport Focus, was born over a year later, and an
agreement was reached to handle the publishing duties of the monthly paper -
the Lake Carroll News - for the Lake Carroll Association.
Publisher/Editor - Dan Stevens; Advertising Director - Terry Whalen, and
Artistic Director - Kim Alexander have formed a fantastic team which has led
the upstart company from it¹s infancy as a free weekly, into the two heavily
decorated subscription newspapers they are today. Simply put: AdPix
newspapers are getting noticed at both the state and national level.
In 2003 - The Voices' Christmas Section won 4th place in the national
Metro Graphics Christmas Section design competition.
Countless other awards from the Illinois Press Association would follow
after AdPix became a member in mid 2003.
In 2004, Village Voices was the first free weekly newspaper to win a
first place honor at the IPA Advertising Excellence Awards. (Shared Page - Sig

In 2005, the Freeport Focus won the Class 1 Division for Best Weekly
Newspaper under 4,000 circulation.
But in 2006 Village Voices set the unbeatable mark by winning the Sam
Zito Award for Excellence as the best weekly newspaper in the entire State
of Illinois regardless of size at the IPA's Advertising Excellence Awards.
In addition, the papers have won a multitude of personal honors for
their writers, artists and photographers, and saw their revolutionary AdPix
Theater Award program get national recognition as it was featured in the
Metro Creative Graphics September 2007 issue.
With weekly contests like Pigskin Picks, the Pub Run, NCAA Tournament
Challenge, along with award winning columns and stories - all dedicated to
serving the small towns of Northwest Illinois with an emphasis on Theater
and High School sports; AdPix papers have established their own niche, and
have set a standard that even much bigger publications have been unable to match.
Now, you can subscribe to the most award winning newspapers in Northwest
Illinois on-line for just $30 for a full year. Simply click on one of the
